Yes, I totally just thought the lyrics to this song in my head…
it’s just so epic! Anywho…
Let’s talk shoes. Y’all KNOW that I love shoes! All kinds of shoes – I’m a bit of a shoeaholic. Don’t judge.
Since I’ve recently switched up my fitness a bit, post half-marathon, my trusty Asics just aren’t cutting it anymore.
Don’t get me wrong – I love them for running! They are a fabulous cushioned shoe for my slightly-high arches, and my bad knees. They just aren’t really cut out for cross-training and strength-training. Plus, did y’all know that you are supposed to give your shoes a break every other day? Yep, shoes need rest too! Perfect for my October goals.
Which brings me to my point – I’m in the market for some new shoes to cross-train in! Something comfy, and something good for people with normal to high arches. Something to bring out my #SweatPink and #FitFluential-ness. Something to kick butt in.
Who has some shoes for me? Bring on the recommendations!

I have found that brooks and newtons I’ve some really awesome options!! Have a wonderful day and best luck on your search! Spa love!!
Thanks for the suggestions – I’ll check them out!!
Nice kicks!
Thank you! I do love them
I too run in Asics but use a pair of Brooks Pure Connects for cross training, love the minimalist shoe
Thanks, I’ll have to check out some Brooks then! Did it take you awhile to adjust to a minimalist shoe?
I wore them around to walk in for awhile to get used to them and then started using them for strength training and elliptical and eventually shorter runs.
Got it. Thanks Jen!
I have pretty high arches, ad my saucony’s have never let me down!
Thanks for the advice Kelsey!
I really love my new Brooks PureConnect. I think they’re good for a neutral foot, but the “pure” line has a bunch of options for different arches that you should check out!
I’m sensing a pattern here with Brooks…need to check them out!
I’ve also heard really great things about Brooks. Before I switched over to Asics, I used to love New Balance.
New Balance have been getting good reviews too – I need to try some of them on as well!
I’m a minimalist runner and that carries over to all of my shoe choices. I’d say go for less shoe–something like a Brooks Pure line, the Reebok crossfit shoe, etc. Good luck!
That’s been a big theme here – I think I’m going to have to go minimal!
I love minimal shoes for cross training. I’m going to jump on the Brooks bandwagon!
It certainly does seem to be the trend, doesn’t it??
I love my brooks!
Y’all – I’m sensing a SERIOUS Brooks pattern here…
You know how I love my Saucony
Adding them to the list!
