Fall Footwear

This post is 100% for my friend Ashwini – she was so disappointed a few weeks ago, when I posted about getting new running shoes. She wanted it to be a post about fall footwear instead! And since I have a little bit of a boot problem, which you would know if you follow me on Instagram (@lvanderwerp) or Twitter (@vanderls), I thought I would share my addiction with the world.

Here are the pairs of boots that I think every woman needs for fall – a classic pair of riding boots, a heeled pair, a trendy two-tone pair of riders, something fun and funky (a la heeled and fleece-lined), a traditional cowboy boot and a short pair of boots.

Something for every occasion! One of the high schoolers asked me in choir on Sunday if I wear boots all of the time because I used to live in Nashville. Yes, Nashvillians love a good pair of boots, but I think I especially love them, more than the average person.

Boots are just so comfortable and practical! They keep your feet warm in the winter, they go with everything, and you don’t have to keep up with your pedicure to wear them. Not that I would ever rock a naked toe…my friends know how I feel about that.

So what do I wear my boots with? Over skinny jeans and slim black pants, under bootcut jeans, with dresses, with skirts, with tights or without – the possibilities are endless. One thing is for sure though – when you wear boots, you have to have attitude. And be prepared to get some comments. They are definitely a statement, and people usually love ‘em or hate ‘em! Me? I personally love them.

Are you a boot lover like me? Are there any other styles that I need to investigate for this season? I’m always on the lookout!

  1. I love the two-toned boots, they make me think of Puss in Boots. Whenever you wear them in my presence, I shall call you Puss in Boots
