Happy Sunday people! If anyone needs a little faith motivation this morning, I suggest you pop on over to the #SheReadsTruth website. There are always some motivating women to hear from and to share your story with! After all, that is what being in the Word is about, right? Community.
Speaking of community, let’s talk LOCAL communities! This week is Louisville’s craft beer week. Now, as my friend Cullen’s dad said – it’s ALWAYS craft beer week in our house. But this week is a city-wide celebration of good brews!
We kicked of our celebration
in the Vanderwerp house for two members of our family on Friday night. (Mom played along, but this is NOT her week).
After work for the parents and a long day of training for me, we headed over to Whole Foods. Our Whole Foods has started doing Friday Night Flights! Aka the best deal in town. For $5, you get to wander Whole Foods with a tiny plastic mug, and sample five 4 oz. beer and food pairings.
Sidebar – did anyone else know that at any time you can order a draft beer and drink it while you shop? They even make cupholders for your cart! My mind has been blown. As if I needed another reason to love Whole Foods.
We sampled our way through, from appetizer to desert – chips and salsa, walnut-stuffed date, fried chicken sandwich, pulled pork with berry chutney, and chocolate cake. Plus five beers, from light to dark. Seriously. It was heaven.
I think we all know what my new Friday night spot will be! The Louisville Whole Foods runs theirs from 5:30-7:30, and it is definitely worth checking out.
Do you have any local samplings that you love? Or any new craft beers that I need to try?
