Goooood Monday morning people! Did everyone else have a good weekend? Mine was filled with family-time in Western KY, a few long walks, lots of eating, and some much needed rest. Oh, and a little closing-ceremonies-hangout-sesh last night – maybe July’s goal is paying off, eh?

I know that I teased y’all with room reno details, and have yet to provide any kind of proof…whoops! The truth is, we are waiting on one last tiny detail (window blinds) to really get this project finished. Currently there are sheets taped over my windows. Not very aesthetically pleasing. I promise to post a picture or two as soon as these blinds come in! Fingers crossed for the end of this week…

Do I live in a fraternity house? Yikes.

SO – in the mean time, let’s check in on my August goal shall we? For August, I wanted to improve my blog – no specific things in mind, just a general goal to put some hours in to make this place (C&WA) more friendly, fun and inviting. Really, those goals could apply to my everyday life and personality too. Good things to strive for!

After July’s big fiasco ordeal of moving my blog to WordPress and going self-hosted, I have been like a kid in a candy store! So many new things to explore, learn about, add to my blog – in truth, it is slightly overwhelming. I think I could spend hours upon hours tweaking things until they are just right. Hours which I will soon no longer have. School starts next week!

Instead of getting overwhelmed by the choices, I have focused on a few smaller things that make a big difference. Step one was to fix my blog so that it is easier to read on a mobile device – mom strongly requested this. In making it easier to read the content, it lost a little bit of its curb appeal, but that’s a tradeoff that I am willing to make!

I have also been trying to comment on more blogs and increase my Twitter activity, trying to build relationships and increase readership. Baby steps folks! In short, this month has been filled with little changes that will (hopefully) pay off in the long run.
