Good morning, good morning – another month, another goal around here! Don’t know what I’m talking about? Check out my Gathering Rosebuds page to see what I have been doing this year instead of making New Year’s resolutions!
This month, I want to focus on something specific – my blog. Obviously it has been going through some changes recently, and I want to use this month to keep updating and improving it before school takes over my life!
When I first started this blog last September (we’re coming up on the one year mark!) it was a place to keep my friends and family informed on my life in Nashville. But over the last year, it has become so much more! I have learned about widgets and plugins, self-hosting and servers, page views and followers, how to write for an audience, how to increase that audience, and so much more.
So what’s in store for the old blog this month? A few more little tweaks to how it looks. Potentially a new header. Maybe even a fan page on Facebook! Plus, I’m ramping up my efforts to increase readership – because really, everyone should read what I have to say. Right? Right. Clearly y’all somewhat agree if you have stuck with me for this long!
Hang in there with me for this next month, hopefully things won’t go totally wonky like they did when I switched servers! If so, just know that it will all be worth it in the end. Here’s to Blog Better August!
Bloggers out there: (especially WordPress users) what tips and tricks do you have for me? Favorite widgets or plugins? Ways that you increased your readership?
And readers: what would you like to hear more about? I can ramble all day, but I want people to enjoy it!
