July wrap-up

Good morning everyone! Hope your Tuesdays are off to a fabulous start thus far. And I hope that MY Tuesday is better than yesterday – did anyone else have a really funky Monday? I didn’t feel like myself all day. Ugh, Mondays. Anywho…

Somehow, it is already the last day of July. What the heck?? I feel like I was just announcing my plans to be a better friend this month to you guys like…yesterday. Absolute madness.

So how did I do? I think overall, I made a bit of progress. Transitioning to a new city is hard, even a city that you lived in for eighteen years! I’m slowly but surely reconnecting with people, and I know that there will be even more people to meet when I start school in a few weeks. I’ve also tried to be better about keeping in touch with people, since I left a lot behind when I left Nashville, or when they left Nashville. Sad!

All in all, I think adjusting to new ways of making (and keeping in touch with) friends is just part of growing up. Gone are the days of college, when your best friends lived a flight of stairs away and every minute not spent in class or at meetings was spent hanging out. Now we’re adults, with jobs and responsibilities and less sleep, and friendships have to be more intentional! Which is alright by me.

So July was just another step forward in the step towards becoming a successful adult I guess. Someone remind me again why we have to grow up? At least I have my friends by my side!

  1. Yes, friendships are always evolving and changing. As time goes on and life gets in the way I think we need to work harder to make them a priority. No easy task sometimes.
