Good morning, good morning! Sorry to be absent yesterday – it was actually a fitting way to close out the month of May. I didn’t have time to blog because I was too busy being present, per my May challenge.
Yesterday I spent the day with my grandparents who were in town for my cousin’s high school graduation. How can it possibly be time for this little baby to graduate high school?
It was a wonderful day, filled with friends and family and celebrating Reid’s accomplishment. I am so, so proud of him, and so glad that I live so much closer to him and his little brother! Aka, one neighborhood over.
Overall, I’m happy with the results of May’s challenge. I think that I made a major effort to be present in my day-to-day life, especially with it being my last month in Nashville! I soaked in the moments of chaos while babysitting and the moments of silence while researching; the moments with friends old and new and the moments of solitude; the last few days in Nashville and the first few days in Louisville.
After all, as the speaker quoted one of my high school teachers at graduation last night, “Don’t you dare wish this away”. Each day is a new adventure, and one that we’ll never get back. I’m so excited for today, and all that is still to come! So yeah, May was a good month.
Looks like you had a great time! That is a great quote from the graduation, very true! Sometimes we have a hard time remembering that, thanks Leah!
Our choir director in high school used to say it to us about once a month!
I love that graduation quote!
Thank you, it’s a good one!
