Today has been a good day of recovery so far – a much-needed rest day! While I love weekends and all of the fun times that they bring (two dinners out – Local Taco and Suzy Wong’s House of Yum, three trips to Nashville’s finest frozen treats establishments – Sweet Cece’s, Bobby’s Dairy Dip and the Pied Piper, an 8-mile run of which the last two miles were tortuous, and a trip to the newly-reopened outlet mall at Opry Mills), I’m usually ready to get back on-track by the time Sunday rolls around.
Sarah and I spent the morning sitting by the pool, soaking up the sunshine (with proper SPF coverage of course!) and resting. Just what the doctor ordered! Sidebar: Sarah was actually being productive and studying for her nursing exam. I on the other hand had a serious date with Rhett Butler and Miss O’Hara that couldn’t be cancelled.
Now I’m actually being productive, doing things like laundry and cleaning the bathroom and working on my scholarship application for next year. Oh, and writing this blog post of course. That’s productive, right?
Plus, after a weekend of good eats and treats, I’m craving some fruits and veggies. And lots of water. So my mission is to consume my weight in produce and H20. Not too shabby for a Sunday!
Does anyone else feel like they need a recovery from their weekends, which should be the recovery? Maybe this just means that I’m getting old…
