Good morning everyone! Hope you all got a chance to rest up and recover on a lazy Sunday yesterday like I did. It was glorious – minus the cleaning-the-bathroom part.
For anyone who didn’t know, today is a special day in the running community (am I a part of that yet? still not really sure…) – today is the Boston Marathon. Runners from across the globe have descended on Beantown, ready to set new records, run with the best-of-the-best, and probably finish in a time faster than I will finish my own half-marathon next weekend.
Unfortunately, it isn’t really a popular enough event (outside of the circle of crazy runners) to be broadcast on a major network…or even a secondary sports network. So this morning, I’ll be running the online live coverage in the background of my computer.
I’m sure that’s going to be superb for my productivity.
I’m hoping that a little bit of “Boston magic” is going to rub off on me, and motivate me/spur me on for next Saturday! Do I have aspirations of ever running this beast-of-a-race someday? Not currently. That would require me to run a full marathon to even qualify. Let’s just survive 13.1 miles first…
Here’s to hoping I run like I have wings, circa Halloween 2007.
T-minus 12 days and counting!
